The Hang Out Venue Ltd

We are a family run social enterprise in the heart of Southend-on-Sea. One amazing venue has two key functions. Designed as a relaxed welcoming space for  8 – 12 year old’s and their adults to hang out and relax. Younger or older, well behaved kids can book too. We believe this age group need somewhere where they can gently stretch their boundaries, with a wide selection of age appropriate activities and the reassurance of their adults being close by.  Whilst gaining confidence, creating new and nurturing existing friendships whilst connecting to the wider community – in a way which feels safe and comfortable.

When the hang out venue is not being used for the kids sessions, we are available for hire for meetings and events. We are so much more than just a meeting venue. Our facilities include three rooms, centrally located and fully wheelchair accessible, arts and crafts, toys, gaming, table tennis, table football, air-hockey,  pool, chess table, board games, toys, jigsaws, marbles, children’s book exchange and reading area plus more.

Our snack bar is reasonably priced.  You can order food from the famous Grumpy’s diner  for delivery whilst hanging out.  All room hire bookings include at no extra cost: Wifi, flip charts (including paper and pens), white board (and pens) projector and drinking water. We have a variety rooms and options for hire.

We make decisions intentionally, so our profit enables us to make a social difference. We aspire to buy a beach hut, launch the Pull Up and eventually The Hang Out Foundation, a community grant scheme (how exciting!)
