One of our Member in Focus hosts for June is Alpha Vesta, a CIC (Community Interest Company) whose mission is to break the cycle of Domestic Abuse through educating and engaging with Essex businesses. Alpha Vesta’s vision is to enable companies to identify and help members of their own staff who may be suffering domestic abuse. 

A vital part of Alpha Vesta’s vision is their Community Advocate Scheme which, we are excited to announce, they have chosen to launch at their Member in Focus event. The Community Advocate Scheme is a new, fully funded, scheme acknowledging and recognising businesses and organisations wishing to demonstrate their continued commitment and support of the Alpha Vesta vision and mission to ‘break the cycle’ of domestic abuse. 

With a clear focus on awareness, prevention and early intervention, the scheme is funded by the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex (PFCC). The PFCC is supporting Alpha Vesta to build partnerships and collaborations with Essex based businesses and organisations.  The scheme requires no financial investment, simply a commitment to working together to ‘break the cycle’ of domestic abuse and to inspire others to make a difference.    

Our Member in Focus evenings enable members, and non-members alike, to network and enjoy refreshments. This is such a great opportunity to meet new businesses, build new connections, and grow your network from all areas of Essex as these are very sociable events offering a chance to meet, and get to know, the people behind the businesses.

 

Alpha Vesta CIC has a strong vision and mission of ‘breaking the cycle of domestic abuse’ through Awareness, Prevention and Early Intervention. They work with statutory agencies, local authorities, private employers and community organisations to increase their understanding and response to domestic abuse as well as improve their own workforce culture around it.  

This is achieved through a robust preventative and early intervention model placing their Survivor and Insight Network at the heart of it. This ensures ongoing and consistent insight into those most affected by domestic abuse, either directly or indirectly, across the community. Since 2019, they have extended their portfolio of public awareness and training sessions and increased their consultancy services into the development and review of domestic abuse policies and procedures. They have also successfully piloted support programmes which promote positive community re-connections and re-engagement with the community and employment, post abuse. 

Additional bespoke and CPD accredited training pathways dovetail into a complete package of ‘breaking the cycle’ support across the Community which is consistently and robustly reviewed. Passionate about their work and specialist in their field, together with a dedicated Board of Directors, Employees, Ambassadors and Volunteers, Alpha Vesta has developed a strong reputation and brand across Essex with individuals and those organisations that they work with. 1. Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your booking 48hrs, or more, prior to the event, then you can claim a refund of your ticket cost less any fees that may be assigned to your booking.

2. At the time of booking – Please confirm that as an attendee you would like/would not like your contact details shared with attendees following the event.

Please note; the attendee lists shared following our events are for the use of attendees only & cannot be shared with anyone else. As with any organisation we have a legal responsibility to protect the information (in particular people’s personal information) entrusted to us by our members.
